The best month of the year – almost over!! I love December but this one I have definitely struggled with. There is so much going on at home at the moment and, with only days left of the month and still no signs of our baby, I have struggled to get into the spirit of Christmas. However, looking back, it has been a magical month with the girls nativity plays, meeting Father Christmas and the excitement of Christmas morning – I feel so lucky that I didn’t miss any of it.
Here are a few things that I have been loving this month.
Beauty
Christmas for me means new make up and, let me tell you, it was much needed! I got my Chanel bronzer which I love, some NARS foundation and a whole lot of Number 7 beauty products which I can’t wait to start using!
Fashion
This last month I have been completely reliant on a long black dress, even my maternity jeans no longer fit over my huge bump!
I was looking forward to Christmas day to have some nice new clothes to wear. My lovely husband treated me to so many clothes for Christmas however my little baby had other plans. Still being heavily pregnant, I have not been able to wear any of them!!
Roll on January!
Home
It has been a month of decorations which I love, I could seriously have twinkly lights up all year around! We always buy a real tree from our local farm or garden centre but this year we noticed one in Home Bargains for £12.99!! I was a little dubious but it was lovely.
Life
We usually fill December with lots of Christmas activities and days out, this year was always going to be a little different due to us expecting. I wanted to do so much and make it special for the girls but I simply did not have the energy. However, we were invited to Sing along with Santa at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. I was a little nervous as it was the day before my due date but I knew my girls would love it! We all loved it and it certainly got us all in the festive mood.
December has also been filled with long walks to try and kick start labour (which obviously didn’t work!) and lots of hot chocolate. We have had lovely lazy weekends pottering locally, going for lunch, exploring and nesting which, after quite a stressful couple of months, was welcomed by all of us.
I am so happy my girls have got a little time off school now for the Christmas holidays. They are not back until the 9th January and I’m looking forward to a nice long rest (I say that word loosely with a newborn) and spending some time with my family.
Ooh that’s a nice long Christmas holiday! My eldest goes back on the 3rd unfortunately. Hope baby turns up soon for you, I’m looking forward to hearing your news.
