What I’ve been loving lately – September

September has been a bit of a whirlwind. It, as predicted, has been a little manic at times but also lots of fun including a little trip to Butlins. So, as we enter the last few days, here’s what I have been loving:

Beauty:

I have been reflecting a little on my blog lately and, whilst I love getting emails from people who want me to review their products, I have decided to be a little more selective and only proceed if it really appeals to me. Last week, I received a little email from Mustela about using some of their skin products. I was delighted, as you may know I am pregnant with my third child and feeling rather huge. I was therefore very excited to try out their stretchmarks gel and serum.  Whilst so far I have been really lucky to have few stretchmarks from my last two pregnancies, I want to make sure I am taking a little more care of my skin this time around. I have only just started using the products so I will let you know how I get on (they also smell amazing!)

I have also been wearing Benefits Hello Flawless foundation which has been a nice change and is giving me a little more coverage than my usual foundation. My skin is terrible during pregnancies and I need all the help I can get.

Fashion

I think I have bought more clothing this pregnancy than either of my others which is a little crazy. I have been wearing my H&M skinny maternity jeans religiously and also bought myself a new top from Topshop – it is not a maternity one but quite long and loose and is so comfortable.

Meme has been wearing her uniform!! Harri and Meme both got some new shoes for a new start in preschool and Year one respectively.

Home

Not much to report on this front as we have been spending money on birthdays and holidays!

I did buy a new cup which I am a little in love with. In my 20’s I was a little obsessed with shoes and fashion and now it tends to be cups and pretty things.

This doesn’t really count but we had a little photo shoot with Whispering Willow Photography. I have not yet received the pictures but when I do I think we are going to print some and frame them for our home. I can’t wait to see them.

Food

There has been a lot of consumption of cake this month. We were sent some delicious cupcakes from caketoppers to help celebrate Memeandharri turning one! Of course, we had lots of cake for Meme’s sixth birthday.

So, it has been a lovely month but it has been a bit crazy and, with the start of school, it has been emotional and exhausting trying to get into some kind of routine. I am looking forward to a little bit of a calmer October.

How has September treated you?

  1. I’m glad you’ve had such a lovely September 🙂 I am the same with my blog now, I think when you first start you get so excited being offered ‘things’ that it’s easy to say ye and feel rude if you say no, but I actually have time to write my own things more often and clean my poor house now that I say no a lot 🙂

  2. September has been a bit hectic here too, My eldest has just started school, hubby has just got a new job and I’ve spent most of the month hobbling around on an injured foot! Here’s to a calmer October, indeed! #StayClassyMama

  3. Your September sounds lovely, we loved the caketoppers cakes, I’m definitely buying one for the children’s next birthdays. September has been a difficult month for us so far. Eva is really struggling with school and I’m in and out of hospital at the moment, I’m actually looking forward to September and perhaps an easier month. Fingers crossed. #stayclassymama

  4. Sounds like you have had a wonderful September! I love the new shoes, they look fab! It’s strange being back to the nursery routine but it’s exciting because I feel I can start thinking about Christmas now we are in October

  5. Ah it looks like you have had a great month! Love the mug, he he. And I’m glad you’re finding some products to pamper yourself and nice pregnancy clothes, you deserve it! xx #lovelythings

  6. Sounds like a great month! Having some great skincare products when pregnant is important. Hopefully you’ll avoid anymore stretchmarks. Hope you have as much fun in October! #FamilyFun

  7. Ah it sounds like a nice month. Looking after your skin during pregnancy is key if you want to avoid stretch marks. I oiled my skin religiously with babies and am happy to report I am stretch mark free. I too was the same with shows and fashion, now it is largely things for the house and fashion for the kids. Sigh. Thank you for sharing this at #familyfun xx

  8. Wow September feels like a while ago now!! It was good though. I remember you having all the birthdays! Hope the cream is doing its job? I could never find anything for stretch marks that worked! Thanks for linking up to #familyfun
