Way back before I had children and actually had the luxury of time (and spare money!).I was all about fashion and beauty. I would spend hours pouring over glossy magazines looking at all the new trends. Looking in awe at fashion spreads which were like a piece of art and marvel at the outfits and the make-up. I would know all the trends and also what trends complimented me. I would also spend hours trying to master make up techniques (these were the days before YouTube makeup tutorials and Pinterest step by step guides). Yet my life is different now. As a Mum of three I don’t have much time and I have admittedly lost my way a little on fashion and beauty trends.
However, now my youngest is six months. I am determined to get back on track and start looking after myself a little more. Having recently addressed my fitness routine I am starting to look at my beauty and fashion, taking time to discover what suits me and what I like. Ellisons has recently published an ebook predicting 2017 summer beauty trends which was so informative and got me thinking about which trends I hope to try out.
Dewy Skin
Oh I absolutely love this trend. I have always been all for the radiant healthy glowing skin and have a little obsession with buying highlighters – will definitely be embracing this one!
Glossed Lips
Lip gloss takes me right back to when I was younger and a little obsessed over Juicy tubes! They glossier the better. However, I did get caught up in the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit collection last year (who didn’t!). I fell a little bit in love with the Matt look (see main picture) and wasn’t sure I could go back to glossy lips. I love a challenge so I recently bought a new lip gloss and to my surprise I have been wearing it lots.
Colourful Eyes
I always play it safe with my eyes tending to stick with neutral colours. However, 2017 sees the introduction of bolder colours which takes me a little out of my comfort zone. However one I am definitely going to try.
Truthfully, I could carry on with this post.Yet I need to be realistic. I plan to see how I get on with the above trends. I really enjoyed the Ellisons ebook. It has ignited my beauty passion all over again and I feel excited to start experimenting!!

My youngest is twenty months old and I keep telling myself I need to get back on track and make time to make more effort to get a bit of me back.
When you are a mum it can be really hard to find your identity. I know that the way that I dress has changed so much and whilst I always do my hair and put on the basic of make up, that is pretty much it. I’ve never been brave when it comes to make up, I just never seem to get it right. x
How cool, so good that your passion has been reignited and you can start to explore more options again. Like you, as a Mum I’ve lost my way a little and I should probably take a good look and see what I ca mix up. Mich x
