House Goals

With a whole new year just around the corner we have been thinking of a few little house goals that we have in mind. Our upstairs needs a little bit of attention and, whilst we don’t have a lot of time or money, I am hoping just a few little changes and purchases will make all the difference.

Firstly, we need to make a nursery for our new baby. We usually have the nursery all ready prior to the birth of our children but the room we will be using is currently our girls playroom. So, as soon as our lovely new baby arrives we will be choosing colours and decorating, making a special place for our special new addition.

My girls bedroom also needs a little bit of work. We are thinking bunk beds and maybe creating a little bit of a big girl room for them both. I am not sure how easy this will be as Harri is still very much into pink and princesses whilst Meme feels she is a little too old and wants something a little different. I am thinking this one is going to be a little more challenging and honestly I am not the most creative. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Finally, our upstairs bathroom tends to be used by the girls as me and hubbie use our bedroom ensuite. I have never much liked this room and I would love to do something special with it to make it a more child friendly space for the girls. Thankfully we shouldn’t need to overhaul any of the plumbing as we live in a new build with modern technology e.g. great water pressure via an unvented hot water cylinder (or so I’m told by hubbie!). I was thinking more superficial like wall stickers or quirky accessories. A place that will excite them at bath time and hopefully encourage them to brush their teeth every morning (currently a little bit of a battle!)

So nothing major just a few minor changes to make our forever home that little bit more us!

This is a collaboration post.

  1. I loved the title, house goals – I’m going to think about mine. As for keeping both the girls happy, I’d go for a feature wall and white / or magnolia walls on the others – that way it isn’t too pink, that aside have you seen the glitter paint! My friends did her teenage daughter room, so it will keep both princesses happy #marvmondays

  2. This has really made me think. There are so many things we need to do to our house and I think it’s sensible to make a list so we can get it done next year. Good luck with your exciting plans!

  3. Those little jobs always mount up and then I’m left with a big list of house goals! Currently researching ideas for my dream laundry room..it’s only teeny but I want to make the space as useful and practical as I can!!
Love that mug in the pic too…any idea where they are from?!
