Stylish Scotland: Top 4 Locations To Inspire And Awe

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned how I’d like to explore more of beautiful Scotland. Of course, if it were possible to combine this with staying and eating in some super chic places too, it would make it even better. Luckily, after doing a little research this is a definite possibility, so check out my post below for the most stylish places north of the border.

The Chester Hotel – Aberdeen

With its modern and sleek yet luxurious room, The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen in the epitome of style. If you feel that you need a treat that it a little out of the ordinary, you can treat yourself to one their two club rooms that take up the entire top floor of the hotel.

Alternatively, if you want to go all out, then your best bet is one of the suites on offer. The first is the Rothesay Suite which is a 19-century room that has many original features that are combined sympathetically with the rest of the high-end decor.

Then there is The Chester Suite which is the biggest room at the hotel you can get. Go for this one if you have some major celebrating to do and want to treat yourself to a night to remember!

Fairmont – St Andrews

Less northerly than Aberdeen you will find the famous resort of St Andrews. This is a coastal location and is of course, synonymous with The University, as well as the excellent golf courses.

Just as you might expect in the sort of area, there are some pretty swish and stylish hotel options as well. One of which is known as the Fairmont.

This venue is all about understated elegance and style and the rooms, restaurant, and high-end spa all reflect this in their tone.

The room and suites are decorated in a modern and clean style with a nod to Scottish heritage. Many also have views out and across the North Sea and Tay Estuary making it an outstanding venue, both inside and out.

However, the real style gem here is by far the spa that is located within the hotel. In fact, as the image below shows where it not indoors you could easily mistake it for being located somewhere on the California coast. Of course, as it is indoors, it means you get all the benefits of relaxing in this chic location without having to brave the somewhat gusty winds that buffet the Scottish coast!

It is also worth noting that as the Fairmont is set in its own grounds it’s isn’t very accessible by public transport. This shouldn’t be too much of issue though, as those bringing their own vehicles or renting one from a firm like Europe car hire can follow the directions accessible here. Although it is also possible to hire a taxi from Leuchars a town that is accessible by train, that will then take you on to St Andrews if you prefer.

The Ivy Edinburgh

Now, if you like your style a little less traditional and with a little more panache, then The Ivy Restaurant in Edinburgh is the place to check out.

A gorgeous afternoon celebrating the launch of @edin_events Edinburgh Life & Style today, with a sumptuous champagne afternoon tea at @ivyedinburgh 🥂 there’s lots of info about Life & Style over on thestylestories.co.uk, but keep your eyes peeled for a post on this most fabulous of afternoon teas too 💕 • • • #myedinlifestyle2018 #myedinlifestyle #edinevents #essentialedinburgh #theivy #theivyedinburgh #ivyedinburgh #theivyonthesquare #tuesday #tuesdayvibes #lifestyleblog #lifestyle #lifestylebloggers #lbloggers #edinburgh #edinburghlife #afternoontea #instaedinburgh #igersedinburgh #edinburghbloggers #fedinburgh #foodinburgh #eatinburgh #eatingedinburgh #edineats #thestylestories

Here you will find an eclectic mix of metallic accents along with a bold colour palette of greens, oranges, and yellows. The seating is a mix of table and chairs as well as curved booths that add a sense of decadence to your surroundings. Don’t forget either that the ceiling high, well-stocked bar is the perfect place to grab a tipple before sitting down to eat or moving elsewhere in the lively city to enjoy the nightlife.

The Dunalastair Hotel Suites

Finally, if you are looking for that clever mix of old and new that venues in Scotland seem to do so well then why not try The Dunalastair Hotel Suites?

Located close the picturesque Loch Rannoch this Victorian building complete with its own turret looks imposing at first glance. However, inside you will find cleverly restored and modernised venue that is decorated in a luxe minimalist style. Suites are modern, sharp, and clean yet still retain some original features such barefaced stone walls.

The onsite restaurant known as Edina’s Kitchen is also a triumph of minimalist decor. Combine this with the traditional, locally sourced food being served seven days a week at reasonable prices and it makes this a place that is well worth a visit if you do find yourself lucky enough to stay a night or two at The Dunalastair Hotel Suites.
