Having a dangerous mole removed on a child.

Having a dangerous mole removed on a child.

If you were granted one wish what would it be? I think for many, especially when you are younger it would be to be a millionaire, to win the lottery and be rich beyond belief. Many, including myself in the past, believe that money can solve anything, if you had money all your problems could be solved and your dreams will come true. I think as you get older you realise that this isn’t true. If I had one wish it would be the health of my family.

I remember last year hearing the sad new of international footballer Rio Ferdinand’s wife Rebecca dying from cancer. This is a man who could afford the best healthcare in the world, yet it didn’t mean anything, 3 poor young children were still left without their Mummy.

My baby is having a operation next week, nothing serious, a routine operation which shouldn’t take long but yet I am so scared, the thought of my little girl being put asleep scares me. I realise I am so lucky this is the first health scare either of my girls have had. I know there are millions of poor children across the country who are in and out of hospital from the day they are born.  I feel for the parents of such children, there is nothing worse than being completely helpless and unable to care for your child.

I know I will have to be strong, be prepared and put my trust and my world into the hands of the doctors. I also know the next time I am wishing we had more money, wishing I could buy new shoes or could afford more holidays, I will remember that money really is not important because without our health what is the point?

  1. Best wishes for your little girl next week, I’m sure everything will be just fine but I know you will only feel that when it is all over. #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

  2. I hope the operation goes well. It is bound to be scary for you, even if it is a routine op. Hopefully it will be over quickly and you will be able to give your little girl a big kiss and cuddle. I totally agree, money is not everything. I would much rather my family and I be healthy than be millionaires with poor health. Good luck for the op, I am sure it won’t be as bad as you are imagining xx #TwinklyTuesday

  3. Oh bless you huge hugs. No matter how big or small its’ still scary. B had to have surgery on his finger he cut off (another story another day) but I was more scared of them putting him to sleep but it went great and he woke up telling me about his dreams. They are so quick to heal and adapt kids. I promise. Good luck big hugs. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me. I hope to see you again tomorrow for another great round of #sharewithme

  4. It’s good to have some perspective, and to be reminded that without health what’s the point in money. Great post and I really hope the op goes well for your little girl #fortheloveofBLOG

  5. Good luck huni, I’m sure everything will be just fine. I know how scary it is though. My boy had his tonsils out and it was an awful feeling watching him go under. The usual thing usually happens as they say and all was fine in the end as I’m sure it will be with your little girl. It’s totally true though, money really isn’t everything! Thanks for sharing on #fortheloveofBLOG x
