Over 15 years ago my lovely man finished university bright eyed and optimistic for the future. He walked pretty much into a job and has stayed there ever since – well, until now.
It has been a tough year pondering if it was time for a change – the company he worked for was all he ever knew. He has worked long hours often into the early hours of the morning helping, fixing and building. I may be slightly biased but he is pretty amazing at what he does and he has gained the respect of so many of his colleagues. However, the last few years, whilst he has still worked as hard as ever, I have definitely seen him lose his passion for his job.
Change is so scary especially when you have a family to support and a mortgage to pay. My husband financially supports us all and I know that sometimes this worries him. However, sometimes you have to make that leap no matter how scary it is. Life is too short to stumble along doing a job that no longer makes you happy. I want him to come home from work full of excitement and passion for his work.
So this week he started a new adventure. A new role in a new company in a new city. It has been a long week for us all and it will definitely take time for us all to adjust to our new routine and for him to adjust in his new role but I honestly couldn’t be prouder of my man, he really is amazing.
So a whole new chapter for us….how exciting!
