So we have news…

So we have news…

So it happened…it wasn’t expected and I was very shocked but it happened. We are having another baby.

We are beyond excited and also really scared. We had our 12 week scan booked for the 8th June and I was so nervous after our miscarriage back in February. To our relief everything was fine and we are due in December – a little Christmas baby.

We were unsure at what point to tell the girls as December is a lifetime away to a 5 and 3 year old but we felt a little unfair telling other people without telling the most important people first. They were delighted, so happy – Meme went straight upstairs to find the old name book so we could choose (which let me tell you is going to be a tough one with those girls thinking they have first choice!). Each morning the girls come into our room and rub my tummy and each week we look online to see what size fruit the baby is. I love that they are already so involved. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family.

I have already written a little post about my first trimester which I will publish soon.  I know this will be my last pregnancy and I want to remember every single moment. I have also very few pregnancy photographs of me with the girls (I really hate having my picture taken) but I am going to make a little more effort to take some pictures to remember it all by.

So I am now 15 weeks and I am tired, hungry and already can’t fasten my jeans…but I’m happy.

Another baby….how lucky am I?

  3. Wow congratulations!! Such lovely news! I have 2 December babies and I have another little niece or nephew due on the 21st December this year. Greta was born on the 20th and that felt right on top of Christmas but was so special having a brand new baby to pass around at all the family celebrations (plus nobody expects you to cook dinner which is a bonus!). Ernie was born on the 8th and that was so lovely, he was here in time for us to decorate the tree as a family of five and I have the loveliest memories of sitting next to the twinkling fairly lights feeding him and snuggling him while he slept curled up on my chest xx

    1. Oh wow – we don’t have any December birthdays in our family at all. We are the 19th December so I am hoping I don’t miss the big day. Eek! What a wonderful memory – I feel so excited. Thank you for your comment it made me smile. x

  4. Wonderful news – congratulations. I’m 29 weeks now and Zach is still as excited now as he was when we first told him! The more he sees my tummy grow the more his excitement grows and now baby is so strong that when Zach lays his head on my tummy, he gets regularly kicked in the cheek which he thinks is hilarious. It’s such a precious time so enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday

  5. Huge congratulations!! I totally understand what you mean about knowing it’s your last pregnancy so you want to record it. Take as many bump photos as you can xx
