If you love to travel, but you are looking to make savings in your life, you could be forgiven for thinking that you will need to sacrifice the fun and excitement of your holidays in order to cut the cost, but you’d be wrong.
As you can see below, there are lots of simple things you can do to save money travelling without sacrificing anything:
Plan in advance
The further you can plan your next holiday in advance, the easier it will be for you to save money. There are so many early-bird deals to take advantage of for sure, and not only that, but the sooner you start planning the more time you can spend finding those good deals too.
Travel Off-season
If you travel off-season, such as hitting the south of France in the Winter, for example, you will find that there are a lot of good deals to have because fewer people will be travelling overall.
Think outside of the box in terms of accommodation
Instead of staying in a fancy hotel, why not look into campervan shared ownership or instead of staying in a posh villa, why not look at staying in a small shepherd’s hut instead. Not only are these options likely to be cheaper, but they can make your holiday a whole lot more special and more exciting too.
Volunteer
This one may be a bit leftfield, but if you want to really save money on travelling and ensure that you have an amazing experience, volunteering for a good cause like Camp America, will not on,y ensure you get a cheap holiday, but lots of cheap activities and events too. There are so many volunteering opportunities around the world that you can do for a day, a week, a month or longer, that it really is worth checking your options out.
Take public transport
Okay, so this is not always the case, but quite often, it is much cheaper to get around your holiday destination by purchasing a travel card and using public transport than it is to rent a car, and many cities have really good public transport options, so it can be just as convenient, and actually, you get to see q lot more of the culture when you travel in buses, trains and trams than if you stay in your own car bubble.
Get off the beaten tracks
Sure, attractions like The Louvre and The Statue of Liberty are amazing attractions that you will probably want to see at least once in your lifetime, but there are so many other amazing, hidden attractions that are worth seeing, often more fun to see due to there being fewer people around, and ultimately, cheaper too. So, why not get off the beaten track and maybe even discover something new.
It is, as you can see, totally possible to enjoy yourself travelling and having amazing holidays, without spending tons and tons of money, so why not start planning your next big adventure right now?
