In search of some blue sky

Oh I just love a bank holiday and there is two this month – yippee! I am hoping we will start to get a little bit warmer weather though – I am constantly cold and we are all back in our winter coats…sigh.

We woke on Saturday to a very miserable morning but we could see some blue skies in the distance so we decided to jump in the car and go search for it… I make it sound so easy, it actually took a few hours to get everyone ready, pack a picnic and be on our merry way.

We ended up driving 40 minutes to Rhyl, the sun was shining and it looked beautiful¬†though¬†it was still freezing when we left the car (I’m not sure what I was expecting!). We got the scooters out for the girls and they had a little scoot along the prom. We then went for a play on the beach, which we ended up staying on for hours. It was so lovely there, we built sandcastles, searched for shells and the girls pretty much entertained themselves – it was lovely to watch them play together.

We ended the day with hot drinks and cake in a cafe before heading home with two happy but tired little girls (and a bucket full of shells).

Here are some of our pictures:

  1. It may have been cold but it looks really warm and sunny! I wish we’d found more blue sky. Lovely sand photos #pointshoot

  2. fab photos, I love trips to the beach. At least this weekend is warmer, isn’t it crazy that a week ago was winter coats and boots and today its flip slops and sunglasses! #PointShoot x

  3. I love their outfits. Especially the helmets!! You can’t beat a day out in search of some sunshine. Beach days are the best. We always come home with way too many shells. Thank you so much for sharing with #whatevertheweather xxx
