Holidays in the UK – Cardigan Bay, Wales.

You know how we love our little adventures. We try to go on a little  holiday in the Uk every few months. It gives us all something to look forward to and also the opportunity to see a little more of our beautiful Island.

Our last little adventure was to Devon and we had the best time so we looked online to find somewhere that looked equally as beautiful. We stumbled upon a place called Poppit Sands in Cardigan Bay, Pembrokeshire. It looked stunning and also boasted of possible dolphin sightings.  This  made my dolphin loving Meme extremely excited.

Where we stayed in Cardigan Bay

We stayed in Cardigan Bay Holiday Park. I am always a little nervous about staying in holidays parks we don’t know or had any recommendations about as they can be a little hit or miss. We have stayed in some amazing ones and some terrible ones. You can read reviews and look on their website but you can never quite tell until you have arrived. Luckily Cardigan Bay Holiday Park was really lovely. The resort had a park for my girls to play on. There was an indoor pool which is pretty essential for us when we are looking for somewhere to stay. My girls love to go swimming. There also was a little arcade room which kept my girls busy in the evenings whilst me and my husband could have a drink in the bar area yet still allowing us to keep an eye on them. We also spent Saturday night eating at their onsite restaurant ‘The Smugglers Restaurant’. We had such a great meal definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area!

The holiday park was about a 5 minute walk from Poppit Sands beach.  The beach was just beautiful and we spent our first evening there playing whilst the sun went down. The next couple of days were spent exploring nearby seaside towns including Aberdaron and New Quay.  Both such beautiful places we simply didn’t want to leave.

Although we didn’t spot any dolphins (and we spent a lot of time looking!) we had the loveliest of weekends. I think it is going to be hard to find somewhere that beats this beautiful place….but of course we will try.

Have you visited Cardigan Bay before?

  5. Oh gosh what a shame you didn’t see the dolphins! I have never been to New Quay and not seen them. It sounds like you had a fabulous time anyway though and I just adore that photo of them all playing on the sand, it’s stunning. Thanks very much for linking up to #Familytraveltips
