Centre Parcs, Favourite Blogs and a Little Bit of Sun #little loves

The end of another week and almost the end of January. Can you believe that Christmas was only a month ago? My husband has been working from home most of the week so I have managed to get out of the school run, which has been a real treat!!

Here are my #littleloves

Watched

I watched the film One Day, I have seen it before and also read the book but it never fails to make me cry.

We had our annual trip to Centre Parcs and I have watched my girls have the best time. Harri took part in a mini trekkers activity and Meme went on the climbing wall – both such brave girls!

Read

I have read some of my favourite blogs. Dear Bean and Beany wrote a really moving and brave post on postnatal depression, which I am sure that many people can identify with.

I have also been reading one of my old posts ‘it’s ok’ – whilst I loved going to Centre Parcs with my family it definitely was tough. Alfie was so unsettled and I barely slept – by Sunday night I was an emotional wreck. I tried to hold it together in front of people but I guess, just like my post says, it’s ok to accept you are struggling at times – it’s not a sign of weakness it’s a sign I’m human. I need to remember to take my own advice.

Wore

My coat brrr – it’s been a cold one this week. My husband bought me a lovely warm coat at Christmas and I haven’t had it off my back!

Heard

Apart from a lot of chatter from my girls, not a lot. I have been a bit of a hermit since having Alfie, I am just really enjoying our time at home together and, after the upset from him in Centre Parcs, I think he must be enjoying staying at home too.

Made

Progress – we have finally sorted out the girls room (blog post coming soon!). We have so many toys it was a mess and we could never find anything. We have got rid of lots and it is finally starting to look a bit more organised. I am not sure how long it will stay like that though.

And lastly…

We booked our flights for our holiday to Spain in the Summer – I am not sure if going abroad with 3 young children is a little crazy but I am already looking forward to a little bit of sunshine.

How has your week been?

  1. It’s definitely ok to be kind to yourself. Those first few months are so so hard. I hope good sleep and rest comes for all of you soon x and Spain and sun sounds fantastic!

  2. Oh I’m sorry Center Parcs was hard going, I totally understand what you mean though, it can be so hard with little ones, there’s just no time for you. I still haven’t watched One Day, I didn’t like the book and thought the ending was rubbish so I’m not sure I’d like the film and can’t bring myself to watch it.
    Nat.x

  3. Going abroad with any age children is crazy but essential! We all need sunshine. I bet you can’t wait 🙂 Oh the sleep deprivation can be such a killer kind it? It totally saps you of any kind of sanity I think. I hope you get more sleep this weekend. Centreparcs looked fun for your girls though, just great for a family break. xx

  4. This is my first visit to your blog – I had to check it out as I have a Mimi too (spelt slightly differently, obvs!). I think sometimes that January is a month for hunkering down and being with your people, so being a bit of a hermit sounds ideal. Hooray for booking a summer holiday though – something lovely for you to look forward to 🙂

  7. We haven’t been Centre Parcs as a family, I do hope to one day. I know what you mean about needing some sunshine, we are so glad to have booked our trip for August. I love your coat and wow how brave are the girls. I hope you’re having a good week. Commenting on behalf of Morgana and myself x

  8. Love the wallpaper in your girls room, it’s so fun. I love One Day, I’ve read the book but only seen half the film. Your coat looks so lovely and cosy. xx
