The Ordinary Moments – Remembering Why I Started.

The Ordinary Moments – Remembering Why I Started.

I started my blog a few years ago mainly to capture our memories, to have an online diary of all of our adventures. I started when Meme was five years old and about to start reception, Harri was two and starting to talk and well Alfie was not even a discussion yet.

The Ordinary Moments was one of the first link ups that I started and I would join in religiously every week. I would write about Meme starting school, my one on one time with Harri, our weekends together. It would probably never be the most exciting blog post for people to read but for me it was always the important blog post that I would write.

As the years have passed, life has gotten busier than ever before adding another baby to the mix (that baby is now a cheeky toddler and the same age as Harri was when I started this blog), my job has changed and my hours have increased and whilst I am still writing it tends to be sponsored post and reviews. It is exciting and positive that I have the opportunity to work with brands and make a small income but I honestly miss writing for myself. I miss sharing memories and whilst I still share my pictures and adventures on my Instagram feed it is important that I do here too, on my own space.

So I have woken up early this morning to write this post about remembering why I started and sharing some pictures of our ordinary moments, because no matter how busy life gets, this is what is important and this is what I want to remember.

  1. The ordinary moments are most certainly the best. One of the best photos on my wall is one of my three sitting on a log, so ordinary but all three of them remember that day so well even though it was four years ago now. Blogging is a great way of tracking those extraordinary ordinary moments 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #wotw x

  2. What gorgeous photos. Capturing those ordinary moments is the thing I love most about blogging. They are so lovely to look back on 🙂 #WotW

  3. I love this so much and it’s pretty much why I keep doing the Ordinary Moments and Living Arrows each week. If life is busy or I’m writing a lot for work it keeps the blog grounded to its roots. And you’re right, they’re not often exciting posts but they’re little things we can document and treasure x
