5 things to do to in London

London offers a countless array of iconic landmarks, fun attractions, and unmissable events, which will ensure you have a trip to remember. It doesn’t matter if you are travelling to the English capital alone, with your spouse, family or friends, it is difficult to be bored in the bustling city. You can also utilise PCO Car Hire to help see the city in style.

If you are planning to visit in the near or distant future, here are five things do to in London.

1. Visit Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is one of the most iconic buildings in London. It is for me, one of the best things to do in London.  During your visit, look for the flagpole atop of the landmark, as HRH will be home if it is flying during the day and night. You also will not want to miss the Changing of the Guard, which takes place every day at 11.30am, as you can watch a precision march that’s complemented by music.

2. Book Tickets to a West End Show

You cannot visit London and not experience at least one West End show. There is something for everyone in the capital’s theatreland, as you can see everything from Disney’s Aladdin and The Mousetrap to The Book of Mormon and The Woman in Black. There’s no better way to enjoy an evening in the big city, so secure London cheap theatre tickets before your visit to avoid disappointment.

3. Take a Selfie Outside of Big Ben and Houses of Parliament

The tolling of Big Ben will make you feel as if you have officially arrived in London, and many people across the world will remember the sound as a time signal of BBC radio. Below Big Ben you’ll find the Houses of Parliament, which serve as the seat of the British Government and it has done for many centuries. So, you’ll definitely want to take a selfie outside of Westminster Palace and Whitehall, to name just a few.

4. Walk Across Hyde Park

Spread across 350 acres, Hyde Park is the capital’s largest open space and has been visited by sightseers since 1635. One attraction you will not want to miss is Serpentine, which is a man-made lake that is ideal for both swimming and boating. You can also visit Speakers’ Corner in the park, which is a traditional forum for both free speech and heckling. That’s not all, as the park is also home to Apsley House, which is the
Duke of Wellington’s former home and now serves as a museum that features a collection of his paintings and gifts he received from European aristocracy.

5. Stroll Through Covent Garden

If you are looking for an ideal place to spend the day to shop, dine and sight see, Covent Garden will not let you down, as it’s home to superb market halls, shops and restaurants. Street performers will also entertain you as you drop in and out of speciality shops or kiosks, which offer everything from fun souvenirs to handmade gifts. You will also find the Royal Opera House and London Transport Museum in the same area.
