What’s it like to have a newborn

You’ll hear mixed stories about what it’s like to have a newborn. Some people will tell you it’s a living nightmare. Some will tell you that your old life is gone, so don’t expect to be young and free anymore. And some will tell you that the sleepless nights have turned them into a maniac. We do believe honesty is the best policy. So we will admit that most of these things are true. If you’re going to have a baby, it’s important to know that it is going to change your whole life. You’ll feel feelings that you’ve never felt before. You’ll have sleepless nights like you’ve never had them before, and above all, you’ll feel as though you can’t live a normal life anymore. But, we will also admit that it is going to be the best thing that has ever happened to you. You will feel a love like you never have before. An appreciation for the world like you never have before. But, we want to go in to detail with this a little bit more. Here’s what it’s truly like to have a newborn.

Expensive

Your finances really are going to take a hit when you have a newborn. Possibly more so than when they actually grow up. When they’re a newborn, they require constant feeding, grow out of their clothes quicker than they seem to grow into them, and need more accessories such as nappies and toys than you can imagine. You’re going to need to buy things such as baby cribs and moses baskets and you’re then going to have to buy a bed and redecorate their room as they get a little older. The money never stops flowing. It’s not even just the things you’re going to have to buy to support the baby, it’s the bills that are going to grow, the items that are going to need replacing because they’ve been broke, and maybe even a move as your family grows even bigger!

Stressful

You’re going to have screaming, pooping, sicking, and anything else under the sun to deal with, so why wouldn’t you be stressed. You’ll soon come to notice that as everything mounts up, the person you’re going to take the stress out the most on will be your partner, which is exactly the opposite of what you’re going to have to do. The person you should rely on the most to calm down all of the stress that you’re feeling is your partner, and we really hope that you do that. You can halve all of your problems through them, so make sure that you do it!

Incredible

Above all, having a newborn is just going to be incredible. All of the kisses and cuddles you’re going to have, and all of the memories you’re going to be able to make by watching them grow. A newborn will complete your family, and it will make it 10x stronger. Through all of the bad times you have, just remember that there are a thousand good times to come!
