Highs and Lows

What a week it has been… honestly most weeks of late seem to be a little frantic. I am in a cycle of taking the weekend to recuperate and get myself together but, by Wednesday, I am exhausted, the house is a mess, the girls are looking a little dishevelled and I’m on countdown for the weekend again – for those two special magic days.

I had my standard 34 week midwife appointment on Tuesday where everything usually goes like clockwork. However, on this one my midwife was worried about my babies growth so a prompt trip was made for a growth scan, which confirmed her worries. I am not overly concerned but I have to return in 2 weeks for another scan and if there is any further drop in the growth they will induce me. Naturally, this is another worry but we will see what happens. I am just going to take each day as it comes. However, it has been a little wake up call to start getting a few hospital and babies bits ready!

We have also had Meme’s parents evening this week. I remember this time last year going in with a piece of paper full of questions and worries to speak to her teacher about. This year couldn’t be more different, I had no real concerns and was happy to see what the teachers had to say. There was nothing but praise for her, she is doing so well I could burst with pride. My little girl is growing up and I can’t quite believe it!

So definitely a week of highs and lows but, for now, I am just going to enjoy the calmness of the weekends before starting all over again.

How has your week been?

  1. Oh how worrying for you about baby’s growth. I had a little scare during my second pregnancy and it was just awful, I struggled to concentrate on anything. You’re doing so well not to get anxious about it and you’re definitely doing the right thing, I’m sure baby will be absolutely fine. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and feel less tired this week.

  2. I hope things settle with bump and you are ok. If anything, it’s really good they are looking after you. Keep the chilled feeling if you can. It’s not much longer to wait x #MaternityMondays

  3. Great news about the parent’s evening, no wonder you are so proud. Awww!! What a worry about the babe, try to stay positive honey (easier said than done I know) I’m keeping everything crossed for you xx #mg

  4. Good luck with the baby, I hope whatever the next scan shows everything is ok. I think our week has been hectic but I can’t work out why. There just seems so much going on.

  5. Well I have to admit that by Wednesday I am exhausted and living for the weekend too… And I’m not pregnant! Go easy on yourself and hopefully all will be well with baba. Yay for the parents evening too, our monkey had a good one too 🙂 xx #maternitymondays

  6. It is always scary when they say things aren’t quite what they were expecting when all you want to hear is everything is going smoothly. Let’s hope all goes better at the next scan!!! It is getting close now and even if they have to enduce baby is a good stage now. Adam had to be born at 35 weeks and it was nerve raking, but he only needed one night in the special care and then I got all my cuddles and 7 years later he is still smothering me in cuddles. Take care, get loads of rest and hugs with your clever girls xx #mg

  7. Oh so sorry to hear about the growth scan worries, the same happened to us at 24 weeks and it was such a stress for me…I started questioning everything. Hope you are ok hun. But on the upside, how wonderful about parents evening – couldn’t be better! Thanks for linking up to #dreamteam x
