Hello September

A new month and a busy one from us with school, preschool, a little trip and a birthday.  I love September, I have always felt there is something special about it. I think it is my favourite time of year.

It’s been the last week of the holidays, catching up with some friends we haven’t had a chance to see and generally making sure we are ready for the new school year.  New school uniforms are hanging up, new lunchboxes are ready to be packed and new school shoes are shining and ready to be worn. Tomorrow evening will consist of baths and early nights, all ready for the early rise Tuesday. Last September was tough (I feel a little sad just remembering my little overwhelmed Meme) so I am hoping this one is a little easier and the transition goes a bit smoother. I do think I am feeling a bit more nervous than my girls – I have butterflies just thinking about it.

On Friday we spent the day meeting friends at the National Trust Tatton Park. We had a lovely day and it was a nice way to end the week. I took some pictures of my girls and ,looking back on them, it looks so much like autumn already.

A new month, a new season and a whole new chapter for my girls.

  1. I have always liked September to it’s like the start of the year to me !. Looks like you had a fab day out and a great way to finish the summer holiday off #sundaybest

  2. It always feels like it’s a fresh start come September. Lots of changes here for us on Wednesday but looking forward to it xx

  3. With the start of school in September it does feel like a fresh start. I am so nervous for my little Alice starting school next week, she is beyond excited and asks every day when she is starting. It’s definitely a new chapter for us. I hope you have a good start to term too xx #theordinarymoments

  4. I love the new feeling in September, much more so than the new year in January! Good luck with the big back to school, you sound far more organised than we are given that I spent this afternoon ordering name tapes!

  5. It’s been such a lovely summer but I also love the new feeling that september brings. Good luck with back to school- she has such beautiful hair and these are lovely photos. xx

  6. A new school year is daunting isn’t it. Our school year in Australia starts in February and I’m always nervous. Good Luck xoxo #mg

  7. Ahh I wish I loved September, I actually hate it as for me it signals the end of summer and that autumn is well on it’s way! We have so many birthdays in September (too many randy parents at Christmas!) and then the back to school/starting school sagas, it just ends up feeling a bit rushed and hectic and I’m normally still trying to recover from the summer holiday! Good luck with school this week, I’ll be looking out for your back to school photo on IG! #mg

  8. As I read your lovely words my head could picture the uniforms hung up ready to be worn and lunch bags being filled. I do hope you continue to enjoy September and all that it brings. #mg

  9. I have such mixed feelings about September. I fear the lack of daylight, the chaotic schedules, the busy-ness of it all. I guess I also just LOVE <3 <3 <3 summer too. But my kids are so thrilled at school, that alone is worth it! Fall also brings such beautiful natural colors and its own special colors. Mixed feelings, but ready! Wonderful photos! #mg

  10. I know what you mean, there is something special about September. There’s something almost magical about how the kids go back to school and instantly the nights get shorter and the threes change colour.I feel like Autumn appears overnight – even with this crazy hot weather we’re having right now. Thank you for linking up to #MyCapturedMoment xx
