Can you believe that we are over halfway through the holidays? There are only two weeks left. I remember when I was younger, the 6 week summer holidays felt like a life time but I can honestly say that these have flown by, I don’t think that I’m ready for a new school year to start. Not just because of the school run, or the fact that my baby starts preschool but I’m dreading everything that a new term brings – swimming lessons, dance class, rainbows, homework. I feel exhausted just writing it down.
Our week of adventures continued last week with a break in Yorkshire. We booked a cottage for a week which was lovely. It was another week of exploring but luckily we had the sunshine with us which makes such a difference. It was the first time we have stayed in this area and I did feel a little worried when we first arrived to find the cottage pretty much in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by fields. We had almost no Internet, no phone signal and a tiny TV with just a handful of channels – what on earth were we going to do? How funny that me and my hubbie are kids from the 80s, when there was no such thing as mobile phones, hundreds of TV channels or Internet (sometimes I think life must have been so much simpler).
We were fine, of course we were. We spent most of the day pottering around the local area, it was so nice to have a change of scenery and it was also nice to have nothing to do in the evenings. My mind did drift back to my messy house and piles of washing but there was nothing I could do about it so I simply relaxed, something me and my husband don’t do enough of.
So we are back to normal now and, as much as we enjoyed our little break, it’s always nice to return home after some time away to enjoy your little home comforts. Hubbie is back to work tomorrow so it’s just me and my girls left to enjoy the remainder of our summer before it’s back to the chaos of school life.
Below are some of our favourite holiday pics…

Sometimes it makes me wonder what our children would do if they were shocked back, even as far as the 80s? Great read #KCACOLS
Haha I know. When I was telling my girls that there was no such thing as Ipads and Internet they were like Wow! Made me feel really old!

I cannot believe there are just two weeks left. Where has the time gone already? It’s flown by so so quickly. It’s been so good though and I hope the next two weeks slow down a bit. You look gorgeous with the growing bump and it looks so nice and sunny. Let’s hope we get more nice weather x
It has gone so fast and to think we were a bit nervous about it all. I need to start getting a bit organised ahead of the new school year and even start getting my girls to bed a bit easier! eek! Thanks lovely xx
Ah I bet the break with no wifi etc was lovely. Think we all need it sometimes. School sounds crazy? Lots of stuff on and extra work. All this to come. Pics lovely and your bump is so cute xx #sundaybest

I know – it was freezing!
Gorgeous photos!! I’ve had holidays like that before where you end up in the middle of nowhere with no signal and few TV channels, I arrive dreading and come home wishing we were back there! Sometimes switching off is really needed! Thanks so much for joining us at #SundayBest, hope to see you again tomorrow! xx
Thanks Hayley x
